    Atari and Retro Games Ltd have announced The 800XL, a full-sized replica of the Atari 800XL home computer, coming next year. It is priced at £199.99 with pre-orders open now and shipping starting in April 2027, and includes HDMI output, a full-sized mechanical keyboard, a working cartridge slot, built-in Atari BASIC and 25 built-in games. It will support games for the Atari 400, 800, XL and XE computers as well as the Atari 5200 console.

    Spyder: Agent 8 adds Switch 2 version, launches February 11, 2027

    Publisher PQube and developer Sumo Digital announced that Spyder: Agent 8 will launch on February 11, 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, with the Switch 2 version newly announced. Players control Agent 8, a robot spider superspy built by the British Spy Agency EP-8, on a mission to stop the evil organization S.I.N using stealth, puzzles, and gadgets such as a cutting torch and web grapple.

    Nintendo shares Nintendo Switch Sports Resort overview trailer, launches October 22 on Switch 2

    Nintendo released a seven-minute overview trailer for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, which launches on Switch 2 on October 22.     Dotemu and Tribute Games announced at New York Comic Con that Marvel Cosmic Invasion's 'The Siege of Castle Doom' DLC launches on 10th November. It adds two playable characters, Sue Storm (The Invisible Woman) and Doctor Doom, both fully voiced with their own move sets, plus a brand-new game mode. Details on the new mode are still light, though the developer says it will be centred on Doom.

    Dotemu and Tribute Games announced that MARVEL Cosmic Invasion's paid DLC "The Siege of Castle Doom" will launch on November 10. The DLC adds The Invisible Woman and Doctor Doom as playable characters and introduces a new game mode centered on Doctor Doom, with more details to come. MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is available now on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam.

    Permafrost launches in PC Early Access, opening its survival sandbox

    Permafrost, a story-driven survival sandbox from SpaceRocket Games and publisher Toplitz Productions, is now in Early Access on PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store. Players take the role of engineer Rook searching for the missing Icarus in a frozen world after the moon shatters, alone or with up to three friends.     Chinese rhythm game Animal City Cafe launches October 13

    Animal City Cafe, a Chinese intuitive rhythm game, launches on October 13. Its producer, known as Yiguanyan, founded Yiguanyan Studio and has long made game music and sound effects for titles including Dark Cuisine King, Tale of Immortal, and Neon Abyss. The game centers on hitting keys on the beat, includes 35 tracks spanning Jazz, Pop, and House, and will add a level editor a month after launch for players to edit charts, animation, music, sound, and narrative and share them via the creative workshop.
