Solo-developed surreal puzzle horror game The Beast Awoke to Eat Your Darlings launches Tuesday, October 27 on Steam, with its store page and demo already live. Players must free caged cats before the hungry Beast eats them and then escape, using fixed rules with no randomness: the Beast gets hungry on a timer, steak can lure it, noise or being seen starts a chase, and catnip makes cats follow you. There are no weapons and no reflex tests (you can't even jump), each level has many solutions, and saved cats are scored with per-level leaderboards.
