Sony announces Quick Spectral Super Resolution, a PS5 AI upscaler

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced Quick Spectral Super Resolution, the base PS5 equivalent of PS5 Pro's PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution. It uses a streamlined neural network architecture with hand-tuned implementation to maximize performance on base PS5, and Sony says it improves image detail and stability. Patches for Marvel's Wolverine and Ghost of Yotei implementing it are available today, and all PlayStation developers can use it going forward.
