#006 - Figuring Out AI for Games Together w/ AWS’s Andrei Muratov
While Gamescom (Dev) has long since past we’ve still got some fun stuff to share from the event. Tommy sits down with Andrei Muratov, one of the principal leads for games at Amazon Web Services. We’ve known each other for a couple of years and Andrei has been instrumental in supporting the AI and Games Conference and indeed this shiny new podcast. We sat down on the Wednesday morning of Gamescom week to discuss the realities surrounding AI in the video games industry, the challenges studios face in figuring out its viability, the reality of keeping up with AI expansion, and how AWS positions itself to support studios in practical AI adoption.
Apologies for the sound quality: we’re still figuring out the new lapel mics, plus we recorded this outside and my voice is absolutely shot after the first three days of Gamescom week. By this point I had been on a panel, gave a talk, hosted a roundtable, had a bunch of meetings and also chatted away with loads of people into the wee hours of the morning down the Alter Markt in downtown Cologne. So yeah, not in the best conditions for recording a podcast!
