'We Have Been Gradually Preparing': Capcom Already Has a Plan for When Its Resident Evil Remakes Catch Up With Newer Games

Capcom veteran Jun Takeuchi says the company already has a plan for when its Resident Evil remake series catches up with the era of the numbered titles, and has been gradually preparing for it since around Resident Evil Village. He called Resident Evil 7 a turning point for the series, noting that elements like the Umbrella and Spencer names and the return of Raccoon City in Requiem are seeding a future "crossover." A remake of Code Veronica is slated for next year.
