Dlala Studios on getting comedy legend Bob Mortimer to voice the upcoming game Murals
"What's the harm in asking?" – Dlala Studios on taking a big swing to get comedy legend Bob Mortimer for the upcoming game Murals
Brief
Dlala Studios revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 that British comedian Bob Mortimer voices the character "Magic Dave" in its upcoming game Murals. Founder Aj Grand-Scrutton said the team first wrote a character imitating Mortimer, then reached out through Mark Landers at Side and wrote a two-to-three-page script overnight, hearing back 48 hours later that Mortimer loved it. Dlala, founded in 2012, made 2020's Battletoads and 2023's Disney Illusion Island and now has 43 staff.
