Sony brings a PS5 Pro AI upscaling feature to PS5 as QSSR

Sony announced Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR), a new performance tier of AI upscaling coming to PS5 starting today with Marvel's Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei. PlayStation says QSSR comes out of Project Amethyst, its AI graphics collaboration with AMD, and uses a streamlined neural network architecture with a hand-tuned implementation for PS5, while PSSR on PS5 Pro remains the gold standard. Sony says it will offer QSSR broadly to all PlayStation developers, though it is unclear which released or future games will implement it.
