Sony reveals QSSR, a new PS5 upscaler, with Marvel's Wolverine and Ghost of Yotei patched today

Sony announced Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR), an AI upscaling tech for standard PlayStation 5 consoles that it calls an evolution of PS5 Pro's PSSR, which remains "the gold standard." Marvel's Wolverine and Ghost of Yotei are the first titles to use it and are being patched today to offer QSSR as an additional graphics option on PS5, with Sony saying it will be offered broadly to PlayStation developers. Digital Foundry called the technology's potential "remarkable," noting substantially improved temporal stability and detail, while Ghost of Yotei saw less dramatic improvements.
