Former Halo Franchise Director Says Activision Should Hire Former Halo Devs for Next Mainline Game

Former Halo franchise creative director Frank O'Connor has advised Activision Blizzard to hire laid-off developers from Bungie, Halo Studios, and elsewhere for the next mainline Halo game. In a September 25 LinkedIn post, he outlined three possible directions: a classic sandbox shooter, a modern reinvention, or an Activision-style sandbox game with player progression and business models. He also warned against tying the game to hardware or services launch cycles and against abandoning its sandbox.
