Simu Liu Confirms He Wasn't in Talks for Mass Effect: Universe Despite Resemblance to Leaked Trailer Character

Simu Liu told Kotaku he was not involved in BioWare's cancelled Mass Effect: Universe, despite the leaked trailer's new protagonist bearing a striking resemblance to him. The trailer surfaced online after the studio's closure on October 21, and Liu had posted about his displeasure with the closure on Threads hours before the leak. He replied to the trailer on X with "waaaait a minute," and said he wasn't involved but wasn't the only one asking.
