Guillermo del Toro on Trying to Make a BioShock Movie: 'Probably One of the Most Disastrous Calls I've Ever Had'

In a new IGN interview, Guillermo del Toro said he tried to make a BioShock movie but the calls with the people behind the game were "probably one of the most disastrous calls I've ever had," adding that he is "fucking done." He also named Left 4 Dead, Death Stranding, Shadow of the Colossus, Dead Cells and Angry Birds as games he likes. The BioShock film has been in some form of development since 2010, was announced for Netflix by 2K in 2022, and producer Roy Lee said in 2024 that it was still happening with a slashed budget.
