Skywork AI open-sources Matrix-Game 4.0, a game world model running in real time on a single RTX 5090

Skywork AI, owned by Kunlun Wanwei, released and open-sourced Matrix-Game 4.0, which it calls the first game world model able to run in real time on a single consumer GPU. The system splits work between a game engine that maintains world state and rules and a video model that generates visuals from structural sketches, responding to key presses in under 0.15 seconds at 60 FPS with about 18.5GiB peak VRAM. The team says it adapted a V2V model from Wan2.2 5B Fun Control and used few-step autoregressive distillation, CUDA Graph and FP8 fused operators to fit the workload on one card, with weights and code available on GitHub and Hugging Face.
