Report: Epic delays Star Wars and Marvel shooter, shifts to AI-accelerated development

Bloomberg's Jason Schreier reports, citing anonymous sources, that Epic Games' Star Wars and Marvel crossover shooter has been internally delayed from a planned March 2027 release. Epic reportedly told staff to adopt an AI-first pipeline and finish the game with tools such as Anthropic's Claude, with one game director saying there would be no more hand-written code. Epic communications director Jake Jones said the company is embracing AI-accelerated development. Disney previously took a $1.5b stake in Epic.
