Resident Evil Director Zach Cregger Feels "Gratified" After Gamer Backlash to His Hit Movie

Resident Evil director Zach Cregger said he feels "gratified" rather than vindicated by the movie's success, noting that people responded to it. The film has earned $363 million globally, making it the highest-grossing and highest-rated Resident Evil movie and the No. 9 highest-grossing video game movie ever. Cregger said he will stop engaging with online critics and is done with franchise movies, with his next project being the original sci-fi film The Flood.
