Is the BioShock Movie Ever Going to Happen? Director Weighs In

BioShock movie director Francis Lawrence said the team is "still working on a script" and believes "we're pretty close," adding he feels "really good about it." The project has been in development for more than a decade, and after Netflix took it over in 2022, a regime change led to it being scaled back into a more "personal" film. Producer Roy Lee said Lawrence could begin work on BioShock in 2027, with Michael Green and Justin Rhodes on the script and no cast announced yet.
