Sony's AI upscaling tech QSSR is no longer PS5 Pro exclusive

Sony announced Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR), bringing its AI-powered upscaling technology to the standard PS5 after it had been exclusive to the PS5 Pro, enabled by a streamlined neural network architecture and its Project Amethyst collaboration with AMD. Marvel's Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei are the first two games to get QSSR, via patches released the same day, and Sony says the technology will be made broadly available to PlayStation developers while PSSR remains the higher-end option on PS5 Pro. Digital Foundry's early testing suggests QSSR has more modest performance targets on the standard PS5, which lacks the PS5 Pro's dedicated machine-learning hardware.
