Report: Ape Escape revival in the works at Sonic Mania studio Evening Star

Veteran journalist Jeff Gerstmann said on his podcast that a revival of the classic PlayStation franchise Ape Escape is in development at Evening Star, the team behind Sonic Mania, and VGC has heard the same from its own sources. Gerstmann said the game is far from release and is being handled by an external studio rather than Team Asobi. VGC has heard from multiple sources that Ape Escape is not the only dormant PlayStation franchise Sony is looking to revive by licensing it to smaller third-party studios.
