Playing Through All of Kingdom Hearts Together: Kotaku's Year-Long 'Guiding Key' Series

Kotaku is launching "Guiding Key," a book club-style series that will play through and discuss the entire Kingdom Hearts saga over the course of a year, leading up to playing Kingdom Hearts IV together when it launches in late 2027. The monthly schedule runs from October 2026 through November 2027, with the numbered mainline games each spread across three months, while 358/2 Days and Re:coded will be watched via cutscenes since they aren't readily playable on modern platforms. The first introductory episode goes up Thursday, October 8, when Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] launches on Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
