WoW: Forever Lets You Have a Last Name for the First Time in 22 Years, and It's Stressing Me Out

World of Warcraft: Forever has opened early character name reservation, limited to three per account and monetized as a pre-order bonus. The game drops servers and changes character names to a forename plus a surname, a major departure for WoW naming. The author struggles to pair new surnames with character names he has used for over 20 years, while Blizzard has also opened the full character creator early.
