In an interview at TGS2026, Muramasa: The Strange Tale director Wataru Nakanishi discussed how the release combines the original Muramasa with the Genroku Legends content while adding new systems. Ogi skills are no longer fixed to blades and can be freely equipped and removed, street traversal restrictions have been lifted, and the four non-blade characters gain a talisman crafting and upgrade system. The team also added tutorials and a guide feature, and players can experience the "Shigekyo" style from the start.
