- VGCSteam launches Achievement Sets, with 17 games in beta
Steam is rolling out a feature called Achievement Sets, with a beta running in a small number of games. Developers can split achievements into groups, each with its own progress bar and a set complete trophy that is preserved when new achievements are added. Developers can also archive individual achievements or whole sets, which will not appear on the profiles of players who missed them or block their progress. The first 17 games include Team Fortress 2, Portal 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Forza Horizon 5 and Crusader Kings III.
- Rock Paper ShotgunValve rolls out Steam Achievement Sets in beta, splitting growing trophy lists into DLC and season buckets
Valve has launched Achievement Sets in the Steam client beta, letting developers group achievements by DLC, season, or single player and multiplayer, with each set getting its own progress bar. Valve said achievements added with new content can be hard to find and can accidentally break the completion status of players who already finished a game. The first supported games include Against the Storm, Age of Wonders 4, American Truck Simulator, Crusader Kings 3, Dredge, Euro Truck Simulator 2, Forza Horizon 5, Left 4 Dead 2, Portal 2, PowerWash Simulator, Team Fortress 2, and Victoria 3. The update also beta tests a redesigned achievements page with per-set progress, a global stats toggle, expanded search filters, and comparison with up to three friends.
