Warframe developer Digital Extremes has opened Soulframe's alpha to all players. The fantasy action RPG is also set to receive one of its biggest and most violent updates next month.

After three years of invite-only playtests, Soulframe will open its alpha to everyone on November 6. The Prelude 17 update, Verse of the Veillands, will corrupt the whole Midrath region and have players restore zones through the main quest, unlocking side activities such as fishing and raising a wolf pup into a mount. It also adds a new Pact tied to the Ode race, which the team calls one of its biggest and most violent structural changes in a long while.

Digital Extremes announced that its free-to-play fantasy RPG Soulframe will be downloadable for everyone on 6th November after two years in closed alpha. The 17th update, Verse of the Veilands, adds an Ubisoft-style region-cleansing system where players complete votives to clear Ode siphons, and lets players raise Omen wolfpups into rideable adult wolves. Creative director Geoff Crookes said the team is nervous about making the game feel harsher at first glance but sees it as a stronger guide for new players.
