Hideo Kojima cameoed in My Chemical Romance's new animated short Prelude to The End, voicing a character credited as The Teacher in a voicemail scolding main character Astrid about late Japanese homework. The seven-and-a-half-minute stop-motion film serves as a 20th anniversary music video for the band's "The End." and is based on director Lauren Tsai's The Dying World. Phoebe Bridgers and Billie Eilish also appear in the same sequence of missed voicemails.
