Study Finds Almost Half of PS5 Disc Backlash Came from Fake Accounts

A Cyabra study found that almost half of the replies to official PlayStation channels about August's blackout campaign were "inauthentic." The research identified almost 1,000 fake profiles that generated over 1 million views and more than 100k shares, with the misspelled hashtag #NoDiskNoBuy almost 90% amplified by bots. It also noted that the most engaged posts came from genuine accounts, with 28% of key posts from accounts with fewer than 5,000 followers.
