- 机核New Warhammer Blood Bowl game enters playtesting
The new Warhammer Blood Bowl game has entered playtesting after Slitherine took over the series' publishing rights from NACON. Owners of Blood Bowl 3 get it free and keep their existing teams and cosmetic items. The game is built on its predecessor's foundation with the latest official tabletop rules, launches with 14 playable teams, and adds a 7-on-7 mode alongside the traditional 11-on-11.

Warhammer Blood Bowl, published by Slitherine, is currently in beta and will eventually replace Blood Bowl 3, with owners of Blood Bowl 3 getting it for free and their accounts transferring over. A Slitherine representative confirmed players will use the same BB account on both games, so all cosmetics, Warpstone and teams bought in BB3 will carry over instantly. Warpstone will still be used for cosmetics in the new game, but Slitherine said it is still thinking about how to handle teams.
- @pcgamerWarhammer: Blood Bowl Is Blood Bowl 3.5, Not a Whole New Game
Warhammer: Blood Bowl is Blood Bowl 3.5 rather than a whole new game, but it's definitely an upgrade
- PC GamerWarhammer: Blood Bowl beta hands-on: more like Blood Bowl 3.5 than a new game, but an upgrade
PC Gamer's Jody Macgregor played the beta and found Warhammer: Blood Bowl feels more like Blood Bowl 3.5 than a whole new game, though it is an upgrade. The new Rumble Mode draws on the tabletop Sevens format, with seven-a-side teams on a smaller pitch, six turns per half instead of eight, doubled reroll costs, and no line of scrimmage. The game also adds the tabletop third-season rules, including anti-stalling penalties, the Secure the Ball action, revised passing rules, and MVP selection limited to six nominated players (four in Rumble Mode). The public playtest opens October 7 on Steam, with full release planned by the end of the year.
