Aonuma explains why the Ocarina of Time remake uses a new art style

Eiji Aonuma told Polygon that the Ocarina of Time remake adopted a new art style because an expected look would have less impact on players. He said the series often shifts art style between titles, though not for its own sake, and that the connected Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom share a similar style. He added that his own team is surprised by new styles at first before getting used to them.
