- Rock Paper ShotgunPillars of Eternity and Deadfire Add Full PC Controller Support in Public Test
Obsidian has rolled out full PC controller support for Pillars of Eternity and Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, playable from character creation to the end credits, currently in public test form. The support covers Xbox and PlayStation controllers, Steam Deck and Steam's Big Picture mode, with radial menus for abilities and party commands. Deadfire's turn-based mode has also been reworked, and the changes are part of Patch 1.3.10.0, with no concrete end date for the test.
- PC GamerPillars of Eternity 1 and 2 open public test for full gamepad support until November 25
Obsidian announced public Steam betas for Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2 that add full start-to-finish controller support, opt-in via each game's November 4 beta branch. The test runs until November 25, and the data gathered will be used to fix issues before full release. The studio also shipped patch 1.3.10.0 for PoE 1 and patch 5.1.0.0 for Deadfire, the latter bringing PoE 1's turn-based improvements over, with characters no longer limited to one turn per round and lethality greatly increased.
