Valve added a requirement that developers launch their game with a developer account and run it for at least five minutes before submitting it for Steam review. According to Automaton, the play session must happen within the past seven days or after the latest build was uploaded to the default branch. Developers discussed the change on Reddit's r/gamedev, with some speculating it targets low-quality games made with generative AI.
