- IGNTrollheim: Gnomes Aims to Bring the Mystery and Whimsy of Nordic Folklore to a Survival Crafting Game
Trollheim: Gnomes is a PC survival crafting game from a team of ex-Mojang developers, based on Nordic folklore, in which players are three-inch-tall Sprýg Gnomes building ever higher in a procedurally generated Dark Forest. Combat is optional: the Väsen won't attack on sight, and players can befriend them with food or needed items to reach the same goals as a hostile approach. The game supports up to eight players in co-op, and is available to wishlist on Steam.
- Rock Paper ShotgunEx-DICE and Paradox devs announce survival game Trollheim: Gnomes
Swedish studio Off-leash Interactive and publisher Fireshine Games have announced Trollheim: Gnomes, a survival-crafting game where you play a three-inch-high gnome in a procedurally generated forest drawn from Nordic folklore. It supports eight-player multiplayer and has no classes, with the forest's "Väsen" creatures framed as neighbours rather than enemies. There's no release date yet, but playtest applications are open.
- PC GamerTrollheim: Gnomes Is a Co-op Survival Game Where Trolls Are Neighbors, Not Just Enemies
In co-op PvE survival game Trollheim: Gnomes, you play a tiny Spryg Gnome driven from Midgard by Oden, foraging, exploring, building and surviving cold and hunger in a dark forest. Game director Jojje Dalunde said the team treats its NPCs, including trolls and other väsen, not as enemies but as neighbors who react to how you behave, and players who cross them can still make amends. The game comes to early access later this year.
