Players with jailbroken PS5 consoles are running Steam games locally, including Portal and Left 4 Dead 2, through tools such as Playden for PS5. The project, made public this month, creates a private Windows environment via prospero-win, a PS5 port of Wine, and supports Direct3D 11 and Direct3D 12 games through DXVK and VKD3D-Proton. The developers say it is in an early alpha state, requires logging into an official Steam account, and that Valve does not support third-party clients, so the risk is the user's to accept.
