AI Fan Wikis Riddled With Errors Are Muddying the Waters of an Already Contested Part of Games Culture

AI-generated sites posing as fan wikis are filling search results with false information, such as a Nighthawks wiki listing companions and skills that don't exist. Hooded Horse CEO Tim Bender says the publisher has had to play whack-a-mole with these sites, including a GameDB collection covering more than 20 games whose creator admitted using generative AI. The sites crowd out legitimate fan wikis and leave misled players frustrated.
