Bei Zi, publishing producer of Squad: Dawn Offensive, said the Chinese version will not be lightened to the point where it "is no longer Squad," even as the team works to lower the barrier for newcomers. The second test, "Qiming Test," is expected to draw 30,000 to 40,000 players split evenly between veterans and newcomers to validate the mentor system, and more than 180 squads have registered on the official website. The team calls newcomer onboarding its biggest challenge and will use the "Fire Recon" mode as an entry point while keeping hit feedback to ease pressure on new players.
