Kotaku reviewed Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve after roughly 25 hours, finding the clouds and cockpit presentation deeply immersive and each aircraft distinct. The story and script fall flat, and the promised 100-player lobbies, co-op missions and hub first-person interactions were absent from the preview. The game launches October 2, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, with multiplayer seasons every two months and a battle pass.
