Only One Dane Remains in Astralis' New CS2 Lineup

Astralis has signed siuhy and cmtry, completing its first international Counter-Strike 2 lineup and ending its all-Danish roster era, with Staehr the sole Dane in the five. The additions follow the October 9 benching of HooXi and jabbi, with NEO continuing as coach. The new roster's first outing was against Sashi in the opening match of Stake Pulse Beat III on October 14, and the new players must play five matches before the Major invite cutoff to qualify for in-game stickers.

   Astralis bench HooXi and jabbi

Astralis confirmed that Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard have been moved to the bench with immediate effect, with their contracts expiring at the end of the year. Fusion Esports founder and CEO Jonas Gundersen said the two sides mutually decided to end the partnership and thanked them for helping secure the team's first LAN win since 2019. Former Liquid IGL siuhy and FUT benched player cmtry are understood to be close to joining, with cmtry set to give up the AWP for rifling, and Astralis are expected to unveil their new players before playing at Stake Pulse Beat III on October 12.

Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov is set to join Astralis on loan as a rifler, according to a report confirmed by HLTV sources. The move follows an earlier HLTV report that Astralis were seeking immediate replacements for HooXi and jabbi after contract negotiations stalled. cmtry was recently benched by FUT to make way for SunPayus, and would switch from the AWP to rifling after wielding it since joining NAVI Youth in 2023.

Sources: Astralis look to replace HooXi and jabbi

Multiple sources told HLTV that Astralis are searching the market for immediate replacements for HooXi and jabbi. The timing is surprising because the team just won Stake Ranked Episode 4 in Barcelona, ending a nearly seven-year trophyless period on LAN. HLTV reports that jabbi's contract expires at the end of November and HooXi's runs until the end of the year, with negotiations having hit a wall, and that siuhy is on the shortlist. Astralis did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
