Phantom Blade Zero Is Already Proving Its Prelaunch Hype Was No Fluke
Phantom Blade Zero hit a peak of 723,876 concurrent players on Steam within hours of launch, and it is also available on PS5. Alinea Analytics' Rhys Elliott said that at 850,000 preorder units, 62.5% of sales came from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, with 75.9% of copies on Steam and about 24.9% on PS5, generating $43 million in early revenue. Creative director Soulframe Liang thanked players and the S-Game team in a launch-day letter, and the piece notes the game is not expected to match Black Myth: Wukong's 10 million units in three days.
The piece uses Steam concurrent-player numbers and preorder data to show how Phantom Blade Zero opened, with a comparison to Black Myth: Wukong.
