Star Wars: The Old Republic fans mourn BioWare after EA shuts the studio down

EA shut down BioWare today, and Star Wars: The Old Republic fans paid their respects on the SWTOR subreddit, where a post sharing the studio's farewell statement drew nearly 5,000 upvotes and 742 comments within hours. The MMO launched in 2011 and was developed by BioWare, which supported it until EA handed maintenance to Broadsword Games in 2023. Some players said they were now glad Broadsword took over, since the game lives on.
