God of War creator David Jaffe revealed that Kratos was originally named "Dominus," but team members kept making Domino's Pizza jokes about it, so the name was dropped after about 50 times. The studio then turned to a list of Ancient Greek baby names, and marketing lead Susan Panico ultimately pitched "Kratos," which stuck. Jaffe found the old highlighted name list last year and noted that Kratos had been on it all along, unhighlighted.
