Kojima Explains What The Most Divisive Movie Of 2026 Has In Common With Metal Gear Solid 2

Hideo Kojima compared the narrative structure of the film Digger to his own game Metal Gear Solid 2 in a conversation with director Alejandro González Iñárritu. Kojima said the film's absurdist satire of climate catastrophe and misinformation reminded him of how Metal Gear Solid 2 depicted social media taking on a life of its own. Iñárritu agreed, and Kojima also cited Death Stranding being called a "walking simulator" by people who never played it as an example of judgments made without experience.
