Supermassive Games layoffs land as more than 70 developers leave this week
Supermassive Games suffers layoffs as more than 70 developers seem to have left the company this week
Brief
More than 70 staff appear to have left Supermassive Games this week, spanning developers, artists, producers, QA and operations. The studio had said in August it would begin a redundancy consultation expected to cut up to 75 colleagues, calling it necessary for the company's sustainability. Former IT and facilities director Frank Tindle announced his departure on LinkedIn, saying any studio would be lucky to hire those leaving. In July 2025 the studio announced up to 36 layoffs, which delayed Directive 8020.
