Mass Effect 5 Director Says Fans May One Day Get Explanations for Those Cryptic Teasers

Mass Effect 5 project director Michael Gamble said he will "one day" be able to explain the 2020 teaser featuring Liara T'Soni and what appeared to be Reaper corpses, but clarified this was not a hint that the game could return. The canceled project was set 600 years in the future, acknowledged all three Mass Effect 3 endings, and starred a new protagonist separate from Shepard and Ryder. Fans are still petitioning for EA to hand the game to another studio or license the IP so it can be completed.
