In 2023, an Anonymous Modder Released One of the Best Horror Games of the Decade, and They Still Haven't Broken Character

In 2023, an anonymous modder released MyHouse.wad, a Doom 2 map still regarded as one of the decade's best horror games, and the creator's identity remains officially unknown. The mod sets players in a seemingly normal suburban house whose interior keeps shifting into impossible spaces, with sound design tricks like the Discord notification used as a jump scare. Its credited creator, Steven Nelson aka Veddge, is only a pseudonym.
