Square Enix suspended Final Fantasy 14's login servers on October 21 due to a PHP security vulnerability, leaving only console players and chronic AFKers in-game. Players who could log in offered to water crops for locked-out homeowners via a Reddit "PHP Watering Service" thread, listing house wards and plots. Square Enix said it expected to re-enable logins later today, with the outage at around 18 hours as of writing.
