Korean media reports LCK high earners taking salaries via corporate entities amid tax avoidance questions

Korean outlet Inven reported that a notable share of high-paid LCK players receive their salaries through corporate entities they set up themselves, a route most players earning over 500 million to 1 billion won on strong Western Conference teams are said to use. No player has been formally taxed or penalized so far, and at least three such cases are known, with some players starting cleanup work through accounting firms after a well-known player faced a tax investigation. The LCK office narrowed the relevant penalty clause in May, saying routine administrative steps such as tax corrections and back payments are hard to treat as grounds for league discipline.
