As EA shuts down BioWare, staff at Maxis, Full Circle and Ripple Effect say they were also laid off
While EA shuts down BioWare, developers of The Sims, Skate, and Battlefield say they've also lost their jobs
An EA internal announcement, first made public by Bloomberg, said 400 staff would be laid off. Beyond the BioWare shutdown, employees at The Sims developer Maxis, Skate studio Full Circle and Battlefield 6 co-developer Ripple Effect said they were also cut. Vertical Slice reported the Maxis and Ripple Effect cuts citing LinkedIn posts from laid-off staff, and several Full Circle developers confirmed their own redundancies. There is currently no suggestion these studios or their games are being shuttered or cancelled.
