Epic Announces Game Jam Requiring AI, Then Walks Back the Requirement

Epic Games is running the 2026 Epic AI MegaJam in November, encouraging participants to build games with AI tools from November 12–15, with $7,500 for each of three category winners and development continuation grants of up to $50,000 per team. The event initially made AI use a requirement, but Epic walked that back after pushback. The theme will be revealed on November 11, with some participants working in person at a San Francisco venue and daily livestreams.
