GTA 6's Game of the Year Chances Have Been Called Into Question

Former games journalist Alanah Pearce said on a live stream that GTA 6 likely has a poor chance of sweeping The Game Awards this year because its release timing falls near the show's nomination cutoff. Last year's cutoff was November 21, two days after GTA 6's release date this year, but questions remain over whether jurors could finish the game before voting. If GTA 6 is ineligible this year, it could contend in 2027, when its online mode is heavily rumored to launch.
