EA pauses development on The Sims' Project Lotus amid 400 layoffs and BioWare closure

EA executives Cam Weber and David Tinson said in an internal email that development on the codenamed Project Lotus is paused so The Sims team can focus on Project Evergreen. The shakeup also includes 400 layoffs and the closure of BioWare. Lotus was widely rumored to be another codename for Project Rene, which appeared to be downgraded to a mobile game around 2024, while Sims Community reported Evergreen may be the new name for the single-player Project X.
