Gears of War: E-Day Comparison Shows Difference Between Xbox Series X and Series S

Following the lifting of the Gears of War: E-Day review embargo, raw gameplay footage of the Xbox Series X and Series S versions has surfaced, including a Digital Foundry tech deep dive. Series X offers three modes at native 1152p/30FPS, 1000p/40FPS and 936p/60FPS, while Series S runs 729p/30FPS, 648p/40FPS and 576p/60FPS, all upscaled via TSR. Digital Foundry calls it a landmark showcase for Unreal Engine 5, though performance remains rocky in open segments, especially on Series S where the 60FPS mode sees frequent frame-rate drops that 120Hz VRR displays can mitigate.
