Grasshopper Manufacture announces split from NetEase Games and return to independence

Grasshopper Manufacture announced it is parting ways with NetEase Games and returning to independence. NetEase had acquired the studio from GungHo Online Entertainment in 2021, and CEO Goichi Suda said the decision followed full discussions and cooperation with NetEase. The studio released Romeo Is a Dead Man in February and marked its 28th anniversary in March, saying it will continue as an independent developer.
