Gears of War: E-Day's campaign takes roughly 10-14 hours on normal difficulty, and the author finished it in 11 hours while completing about 60% of the optional content. The game is primarily a linear cover-based shooter with semi-open environments between missions for collectibles, upgrades, and side missions, and a war journal tracks what was missed in each mission.
